NNS ADix - How to...Export Objects from an Entire Forest

This topic describes how to export objects from an entire Active Directory Forest with NNS ADix.

If you need to export objects from an entire Active Directory Forest, you may either run an export operation against each
domain in the forest, or alternatively, perform an export operation using the Global Catalog (GC).

In order to perform an export operation using the (GC) perform the following steps:

• Create a query filter using the following Query Root: GC://<GCServerName>
  <GCServerName> represents the name of a Global Catalog server.
  Example: GC://dc01.dom.com
• Select the option Include subcontainers to include all objects in every sub container of each domain.
  
• Use this query filter settings when exporting objects

Note:
    If you want to import the data you have previously exported, you must replace the prefix
    GC://<GCServerName> with the prefix LDAP://.
    Example: Replace GC://dc1.dom.com/ with LDAP://.

Note:
   The monikers LDAP: and GC: are case sensitive. Always write them in capital letters.
