NNS ADix - How to...Search for a SID

This topic describes how to search for Active Directory objects using a SID.

If you need to search for a SID, you must submit the SID you are searching for in
a special form:

\01\02\00\00\00\00\00\05\20\00\00\00\20\02\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\03\00\04\00

As you do not always have the SID in the form mentioned above, you have to convert the SID first.

Example:

SID to convert:

S-1-5-32-544

SID converted:

\01\02\00\00\00\00\00\05\20\00\00\00\20\02\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\00\03\00\04\00

Note:
If you are searching for SIDs, you can use placeholders.
   Example: objectSID=\01\02\00\00\00\00\00\05\20\00\00\00\20\02*
